ZWAD, ZSUD launch year-long Rani Gaidinliu Birth Centenary

Imphal, January 27 2015: Zeliangrong Welfare Association, Delhi (ZWAD) and Zeliangrong Students' Union Delhi (ZSUD) have launched the year�long Rani Gaidinliu Birth Centenary Celebration on January 26 at Vasant Vihar , New Delhi.

In a press note, ZWAD Joint Secretary Michael Gailinlung Pamei said the Programme started with traditional Hwai (ho-hoing) which was followed by Zeliangrong Anthem.

To mark the launching of the programme, Benjamin Pamei, President, ZWAD lighted the Centenary Flame.

Registrar, IGNOU and President of Makaam Foundation spoke on the "Life and Mission of Rani Gaidinliu" as Resource Person.

He spoke on the two broad themes of social and political agenda of Rani Gaidinliu and concluded with the exhortation to strive on till the unfinished mission of Rani Gaidinliu is accomplished.

Linda Newmai, Social Worker also spoke on the occasion.

Series of programmes, including seminars, workshops, poster campaign etc.

will be organized during the year-long celebration.

The grand finale of the Centenary Programme would be held in the month of November, 2015 where cultural troops from all the North-Eastern states of India will be invited to New Delhi for the mega Event, said the press note.
