Security forces arrest five UG cadres of different outfits

Imphal, September 12 2011: Security forces have arrested five UG cadres of different outfits from different locations in the past three days.

In the first incident, a combined team of Bishnupur and Imphal West district police commandos nabbed a KYKL (MDF) cadre during a search operation conducted at Keishampat Jailer Leirak, near Hotel Excellency on September 10 .

He has been identified as s/s sgt maj Laishram Sushilchandra Singh alias Boy alias Tangleikhomba alias Chingtam (32) s/o Tombi of Keishampat Jailer Leirak.

Two mobile handsets and three SIM cards bearing phone numbers 9203649129, 8794691395 and 8794691385 were seized from his possession.

During interrogation, he revealed that he is originally an active cadre of KCP (MC) Lalumba group presently stationed at 7th MR, Khabeisoi complex.

However, he is extorting money from various hospitals, schools and other institutes in the name of KYKL (MDF) under the command of one Soni, said a press release issued by Bishnupur SP.

In another incident, a joint team of Thoubal district police commandos and 28 Assam Rifles arrested one RPF/PLA cadre from Andro Kharam at about 3.10 am today.

He has been identified as Chingakham Inao Meitei alias Tomba alias Sobhachandra (20) s/o Kalachand of Andro Kharam.

In yet another incident, Imphal East district police commandos netted one KCP (Lamphel) cadre with an amount of Rs 6000 from Bheigyabati Leikai on September 10 .

The cadre has been identified as Thongam Kamba Singh alias Ibomcha (28) s/o Tombi of Koirengei Bazar.

On questioning, he disclosed that he has been recently released from Sajiwa Jail.

At the insistence of Kamba, another cadre of the outfit namely, Sapam Rishikanta alias Chaoba (31) s/o late Sanatombi of Singh Singjamei Sapam Leikai was arrested from his house.

On interrogation, the duo had served a demand of Rs 5 lakh to DOEACC Centre, Akampat under the command of Joychand of Lamlai side, said a press release issued by Imphal East SP.

Troops of 5/9 Gorkha Rifles of Loktak Brigade under Red Shield Division appreheded one hard core UNLF cadre on September 10.He has been identified as s/s cpl Oinam Dinesh Singh s/o Bira Chandra Singh of Topokpi Mayai Leikai of Bishnupur district.

On questioning, Dinesh disclosed that he received training with batch No 25 of UNLF and his number is 7560 .

He has been handed over to Moirang police station, said a press release issued by PIB (DW) .
