AR promotes Fit India Movement

SajikTampak Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a 5 km mini marathon in and around the villages of SajikTampak on yesterday.
The event was organised with an aim to foster the spirit of sports and fitness among the children in consonance with the essence of Fit India Movement.
The 5 km mini marathon witnessed participation of 75 children from Chahkap, Gelbungjang, Khullen, Haika, Paidal, Twilelon and SajikTampak village.
The event culminated with a prize distribution ceremony for all the participants and appreciation from the locals.
The event also succeeded in breaking the monotony of regular routine as well as giving them an opportunity in cementing the bonhomie with the 'Friends of the Northeast' .
Meanwhile, troops of Assam Rifles at Loktak under Churachandpur sector organised a friendly volleyball match with the youths of Potshangbamand Upokpivillages of Bishnupur district, Manipur on yesterday.
The aim of the event was to promote Fit India Movement and to foster the spirit of sportsmanship by building up trust between locals and security forces.
The match was played with utmost enthusiasm ,wherein the youths of the village displayed immense passion, zeal and sporting spirit.
The audience included youngsters as well as elders from the nearby villages .
Attendees enjoyed a well-contested match which was eventually played in a best of three series.
A vote of thanks was offered by village authorities and youths to the Assam Rifles for undertaking such an initiative.
Shangshak Batallion of 10 Sector AssamRifles under the aegis of headquarters IGAR (South) conducted Walkathon at Shangshak on yesterday.
To promote government initiative under "Fit India Movement (FIM)" & health awareness amongst the troops of Assam Rifles, a Walkathon of 12 kilometres was conducted at Shangshak.
All personnel within the age group of 50 to 60 years attended the event with full zeal and enthusiasm.
Troops of Shangshak Battalion also participated as their training and physical fitness.
The event was highly appreciated as Such events give a boost to the message of "Fit India Movement (FIM)" programme.
