KCC thump MPSC to lift 4th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy

KCC (Kongba) made light work of MPSC (Manipur Central Jail) in the final of the 4 th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 2023-24 as the Kongba squad pummelled their opponents by 10 wickets in their title clash at Lairenjam Public Ground, Imphal on Saturday.
Electing to bat, MPSC were restricted to 106/8 with Sagolsem Sunil Singh (21), Maibam Bijoykumar Singh (19), Sarangthem Shangker Singh (13), Ngangom Sudesh Singh (12), Potsangbam Bonem Singh (11) and Chingangbam Lokeshwor Singh (10) getting into double digits.
For KCC, Tayenjam Tomba Singh claimed 3 scalps, Wahengbam Somorjit Singh picked up 2 wickets, and Singthoi Singh Nandeibam and Nameirakpam Arbin Singh chipped in with one wicket apiece.
In their response, KCC completed the chase in 17.5 overs as openers Nongmaithem Dijaraj Singha and Rohen Singh both smashed an unbeaten 53 to guide their side to a massive win and a memorable title triumph.
Champions KCC pocketed Rs 75,000 in prize money plus the championship trophy while runners-up MPSC received Rs 50,000 with a trophy.
MPSC's Thoudam Gelson Singh, who scored 516 runs from 10 innings and took 13 wickets, deservedly earned the man of the series title coupled with the highest run-scorer accolade.
KCC's N Singthoi, who scalped 28 wickets in 10 innings, took home the highest wicket-taker award, while KCC's M Ro-hen was named the man of the final match for his 53 off 40 balls.
