SPIC MACAY apprises Guv of cultural activities

Imphal, January 27 2024:
A team of Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY) led by its founder Professor Dr Kiran Seth (Padmashree awardee) along with five others called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan on Saturday evening and apprised her of the activities taken up to promote and preserve Indian classical music and arts.
The team informed that their main aim is to inculcate the rich cultural heritage of the country amongst the youth and therefore, its main activities are strictly concentrated in the educational institutes only.
Exponent artists of India in their respective held perform and interact with students during the yearlong activities like Virasat, lecture demonstration, workshops etc.
The team also submitted a proposal to the governor.
Governor Anusuiya appreciated SPIC MACAY's efforts in inculcating the rich cultural heritage amongst the youth of the country.
She stated that it will help to recognise the beauty'of our heritage by the youth.
It will also help in reducing mental stress, anxiety or depression, especially in Manipur, she said, while wishing the team the best for their initiative and future endeavours.
