Security forces celebrate R-day

Assam Rifles celebrated the 75th Republic Day at Gaidimjang, Khoupum in Noney district with great enthusiasm and fervour, showcasing a diverse array of events that brought together the region in celebration of national pride on Friday.
The celebration was attended by a total of 400 locals.
The day commenced with 'Run for Fun' that saw participation from various age groups, fostering a sense of camaraderie and fitness among the participants.
The route was adorned with patriotic decorations, creating an atmosphere of unity and celebration.
One of the highlights of the day was the majestic unfurling of the national flag at the historic Thanagong ground, Khoupum which was accompanied by national anthem, evoking a deep sense of patriotism amongst the attendees.
A March Past competition featuring contingents from local schools added a touch of competition and discipline to the festivities.
In addition, the locals performed their cultural dance showcasing the vibrant traditions of the region and a painting Competition was organised for students.
Furthermore, there was an interaction session with Ex-Servicemen (ESM) of Khoupum valley and nearby region.
Meanwhile, 143 Bn CRPF deployed at Lamphelpat celebrated Republic day wherein the commandant Ravinder Sharma unfurled the National flag at Quarter guard.
A release issued by 143 Bn conveyed that Ravinder Sharma, during his speech on the occasion, emphasised significance of 'Republic Day'.
He highlighted the present law and order scenario as well the role played by CRPF for bringing peace in the nation.
The commandant also highlighted the achievements of CRPF since its raising.
A total of 200 personnel from various ranks participated in the Republic day celebration.
