Sub-Junior Girls Inter-District Football : IEDFAthrash DSA Kakching to finish runners up

Imphal, May 21 2018: Imphal East District Football Association (IEDFA), trounced District Sports Association Kakching (DSA-Kak) by a huge 10-0 margin while District Football Association Thoubal (DFA-Tbl) secured a slender 1 -0 win over District Football Association Bishnupur (DSA-Bpr) in today's matches of the 13th Sub-junior Girls Inter-District Football tournament 2018 which got underway from May 7 at Artificial Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak under the supervision of All Manipur Football Association.

It rained goals as Imphal East girls showed their scoring skills today to spank DSA-Kak by 10-0 goals after making a huge return with an emphatic 6-0 win against DFA-Tbl on May 15.M Jina scored a brace to make it 3-0 in the first half while M Promila scored a hattrick in the second half to hand IEDFA an comprehensive 10-0 victory.

M Jina opened up the goal account for IEDFA in the 15th minute after a slow start in the beginning while her second goal came up in the 31 st minute after signing off for a while.

Vunglawmching then made a fine run into the box to slot the third goal for her team.

Lhingneilam Kipgen found her first goal of the day just three minutes after the restart (43') making it 4-0 while Chongmaya took her cue to score the fifth goal in the 50th minute.

Vunglawmching was at it again when she got a fine pass before unleashing a powerful shot past the hapless custodian of DSA-Kak in the 54th minute.

Despite the huge lead IEDFA continued to press DSA-Kak who were clueless in the second half and Lhingneilam Kiphen rose to the occasion and extended the lead to 7-0 before M Promila got control of the game and scored three goals alone back to back in the 72nd, 75th and 80th minute of the match make it 10-0 at the end.

Elsewhere, DFA-Tbl post a 1-0 victory against DSA-Bpr in a dead rubber match through a single goal scored by W Thoibi in the 34th minute of the match.

The two teams looked evenly matched and had almost equal scoring chances but the single goal was more than enough for the Thoubal side to take home the match.

With today's win Imphal East were able to finish runners up with 9 points from 3 wins while Imphal West District Football Association claimed the champions title with 4 wins in four matches.

The winners and other participants were also feted by All Manipur Football Association.
