Imphal, October 28 2023:
Manipur's Priya Konjengbam becomes first woman shuttler from the State to reach an international badminton championship final by reaching women's doubles final at Infosys Foundation India International Challenge 2023 being underway at Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy, Bangalore.
Priya and her partner Shruti Mishra earned the final berth of the competition with a 21-17, 21-9 win over India's pair of Sri Sai Sravya Lakkamraju and Anagha Aravinda Pai in a one sided semi-final match today.
Priya and Shruti will play the Japanese pair of Miku Shigeta and Maya Taguchi in the final.

They reached the final with a 19-21, 21-19, 21-14 over Thailand pair of Tidapron Kleebyeesun and Nattamon Laisuan in the other semi-final clash.
Earlier in the first round, Priya and Shruti outlasted Anjali Dilish and Jayashree Gopal 21-9, 21-11 before securing a 21-9, 21-12 win over Palak Arora and Unnati Hooda in the second round to book a place in the quarter finals.
In the quarter final, Priya-Shruti clinched a 21-15, 21-15 win over Kavya Gupta and Deepshikha Singh to reach the semis.
