Relief committee demands healthcare provisions for survivors

The relief committee of Kakching Wairi Kongoi Community Hall Relief Camp has urged the State Government to make healthcare provisions for medical treatment of conflict survivors staying in relief camps.
Addressing the press at the relief camp, M Rabichandra, secretary, relief committee shared that on October 14 one Hijam Baby Lokeshori alias Alina (21) from Sugnu Mayai Leikai currently staying at the camp fell severely ill and was taken to Kakching CHC for treatment by the relief camp committee members.
The next day she was shifted to JNIMS Hospital where a doctor referred the patient to Shija Hospital.
Here, Lokeshori underwent an operation that saved the young girl's life.
However, after deducting a sizeable amount under PMJAY, the remaining bill for her treatment came out to Rs 71,000 .
At this juncture, he expressed gratitude towards K Ranjit, MLA Sugnu AC for his remarkable help in the young girl's treatment.
Thus, the secretary of the relief camp committee has appealed to the State Government to make specific healthcare provisions to ensure that the health of such conflict survivors will be taken care of .
