Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy : Rain fires TCMDC on top of Group B as PTRC end ESU's unbeaten run

TCMDC-Thongju notched up a 7-wicket win over Blue Hawk-Khurai for the 5th victory in the 4th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy to go top of Group B standings courtesy and all-round performance from Rain.
The win was registered at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, with TCDMC chasing down a target of 139 runs for 3 wickets in 23.2 overs courtesy Rain's half century after Rain (4/28), Valindra (2/20) and Thomsan (2/16) had restricted Blue Hawk to 138/8 .
Put in to bat first, Blue Hawk had a sloppy start but Binson (34 off 69 balls) and Nongdamba (21 off 31 balls) gave a middle order relief to go past the 100 run mark.

In the chase, Nganba (29) and Thomsan (38) gave TCMDC the initial flourish even as Vishonath fell for 1 run before Rain scored an unbeaten 55 off 47 deliveries to seal the victory with Prakash (2*) .
Nepolian of Blue Hawk picked two wickets in this innings as Romesh managed one.
Rain was eventually adjudged man of the match.
In another Group B match, PTRC-Patsoi Part IV ended ESU-Palace Compound's 5-game unbeaten run (four wins and one tie) registering a 4 wicket victory at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground.
ESU elected to bat first after winning the toss but were skittled out within 29.1 overs for 133 runs despite H Naoba adding a 55-ball 47 and PTRC took 34.5 overs to post winning 136 for 6 thanks to Richie's 72-ball 45, Robinson's 30 and Ngambarel's 27 .
Jackson was the pick of the PTRC bowlers returning with the best figures of 5/28 in 7 overs which include a maiden.
Henba (3/32 in 6.1 overs) and Bush (2/18 in 4 overs) also contributed well to set up ESU batting collapse.
For ESU, Donba (2/27) and Naoba (2/30) chipped in with two wickets apiece.
PTRC's Jackson who shone with the bowling was named man of the match.
Meanwhile in a Group A match staged at Kongba Dhobi Lampak, MPA-Thounaojam got the better of PCC-Mayai Koibi by 54 runs for the fourth win in 5 matches.
MPA racked up 145 runs for 9 wickets after electing to bat first and successfully bowled out PCC for 91 runs within 24.1 overs riding on a concerted bowling effort.
Moramba (31), Albish (24*) and Rojit (15) made the most of the runs for MPA in their innings which saw Ajay (3/13) and Lucky (3/34) of PCC enjoying three-wicket hauls.
Lucky scored the highest 20 for PCC in the chase followed by Prasanta 16 and Dilsan 15* before the innings was cut short with Naoboy (2/15), Rohit (2/20), Albish (2/19) and Priyokumar (2/10) of MPA sharing two wickets apiece.
MPA skipper Albish was adjudged man of the match.
