Police Commemoration Day Marathon on Oct 21

Director General of Police, LM Khaute will be flagging off the Police Commemoration Day Marathon 2018 to be organised on October 21, as a part of Police Commemoration Day.
The marathon which is a part of the day commemorating the supreme sacrifices of gallant Police personnel will be flagged off at 7 am from Khuman Lampak.
A press meet was held today at the office of All Manipur Sports Association in connection with the marathon and it was presided by L Ajit, president Athletic Association of Manipur; Eto Tongbram, secretary, Athletic Association of Manipur; S Hemanta, Addl SP Imphal West (LO) and Th Shankar, Addl SP Imphal West (Traffic) who also spoke about the purpose and the objective of such marathon.
The marathon organised by Imphal West District Police and Imphal East District Police in collaboration with Athletic Association of Manipur is aimed at highlighting the dedication and sacrifices made by brave Police personnel for the country and the State.
The marathon will see both men and women participants compete for top honours.
The winners in both category will get Rs'25,000 each while the second and third placed athletes will be honoured with Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.
Athletes finishing from 4th to 15th places will also be awarded with consolation prizes of Rs 2,000 each.
Further, intending athletes were informed to collect chess number and t-shirts on October 14 from 6 am onwards from Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
The run will start from Khuman Lampak Main Stadium and will pass through Chekon, Konung Thong, Thumbuthong, Keishamthong, Wahengbam Leikai, Khuyathong, North AOC and then culminate at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
The organisers also sought public support in successful organisation of the marathon on the occasion.
Entry form can be had from the office of All Manipur Sports Association and at All Police Head Quarters in all districts, they informed.
