Manipur crush Arunachal by an innings & 259 runs

Manipur outclassed Arunachal Pradesh by an innings and 259 runs on the third day of their Vijay Merchant Trophy match at DRIEMS Ground, Cuttack on Sunday.
Manipur bowled out Arunachal for a meagre 44 in 18.4 overs in the latter's first innings and followed it up with a fine batting performance that yielded 386 runs in their first essay.
The state squad's lethal bowling display saw Danish claim 5 scalps as Naesh picked up 3 wickets and Rain took 2 wickets.
Powered by brilliant knocks of Rain, Danish and Thomsan, Manipur took the first-innings lead with relative ease, amassing 386 runs.
Rain blasted 84 off 97 runs, Danish smashed 80 off 68 balls and Thomsan scored 75 off 168 balls.
Also, Bisal Ningombam (28), Binson (25), Naesh (24), Donba (21) and T Nganba (16 not out) made valuable contributions in the innings.
Manipur then dished out a collective bowling performance to dismiss Arunachal for 83 in their second innings to seal a massive win by an innings and 259 runs.
Danish and Y Achouba picked up 2 wickets each while Rain, Naesh, Kaiku and Sougaijam took one each to help Manipur hand a crushing defeat to Arunachal Pradesh.
