61st CC Meet : Chencho, Aryn Williams shine as NEROCA FC decimate SU 7-0 for third consecutive title

Chencho Gyeltshen who is regarded as the Bhutanese Ronaldo and Australian import Aryn Glen Williams were in prolific forms today as the duo helped NEROCA FC earn their third consecutive title of the Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium today.
Chencho scored 4 goals while Aryn Williams made it thrice to complete the 7-0 rout of woeful Sagolband United in the final of the 61st edition of the tournament organised by All Manipur Football Association.
SU which are making to the final of the tournament for the first time could not live upto its expectations as the team were missing many key players, including midfielder Th Chingkheinganba; defender Samuel Shadap of Meghalaya who have been called up for Santosh Trophy, injured Henry Monsang, defender Etomba and striker Dangmei Gaipulen.
NEROCA FC which finished 6th in the recent edition of the I League, showed their intent right from the beginning of the game and kept the Sagolband outfit on toes till the very last minute of the game.

It was a bright start for the Sangakpham side as Chencho found the breakthrough in the 13th minute before Aryn Williams doubled their advantage in the 20th minute.
NEROCA paced up the game despite their comfortable lead and it was Chencho who made it 3-0 in the 29th minute.
Aryn Williams then fired in the another in the 42nd minute and made it 4-0 past Sagolband United at half time.
NEROCA never looked like conceding against the Sagolband side which showed little ambition in attack in the second half and their defence line were left exposed easily enabling the Sangakpham side to almost score at will.
Chencho who had his two goals in the first half itself showed no sign of stopping in the second half as well and headed for two more goals in the 53rd and the 78th minute extending the lead to 6-0.NEROCA FC continued to press as SU never looked in contest and it was Aryn Williams who had the final say during the additional time (90+3) and complete the 7-0 demolition.
Th James (60'), Th Itomba (63') of SU and Ch Rishan Singh (61') were yellow carded by the referee.
Winners NEROCA FC were feted with Rs 5,00,000 and the title trophy dedicated in honour of Maharaj Churachand Singh while runners up Sagolband United were awarded with Rs 2,50,000 and a trophy dedicated MY Khan in memory of his late father, Khan Bahadur Shemsuddin.
Best player of the tournament Subhash Singam of NEROCA FC; man of the final match, Aryn Williams of NEROCA FC; best goalkeeper of the tournament, Bishorjit Loitongbam of NEROCA FC; top scorers, L Sanatomba of SU and TRAU's Princewill Emeka; best defender Abdul Salam of NEROCA FC were awarded with Rs 5,000 each while best midfielder, Tondonba Naorem of NEROCA FC and best striker of the final match, Chencho Gyeltshen of NEROCA FC were feted with Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000 along with trophies.
Ng Naocha of TRAU was named best youngest player of the tournament and was encouraged with Rs 10,000 .
Rising Athletic Union which secured 733 points from 3 matches were awarded the fair play team prize of Rs 10,000 along with a trophy.
Coach of the champions team W Shyamjai and manager Karam Kashi were also honoured with Rs 5,000 each along with trophies.
L Priyobarta, National referee was also honoured with Oja Bahadur Trophy for the best referee and a cash prize worth Rs 5,000 while Rinkahao Vashum, FIFA Assistant Referee as named best assistant referee of the tournament and got Rs 5,000 along with a trophy.
As a part of the ceremony, Singam Subhash Singh of NEROCA FC who was named football of the year (men); Ng Bala, footballer of the year (women) were feted with Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively along with trophies while coach of the year (men), N Shivananda Singh (AFC-B Licensee) and coach of the year (women), L Chaoba Devi (AFC-A Licensee) were honoured with Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 along with trophies dedicated by many football enthusiasts.
