Imphal, October 19 2026:
The Thadou Inpi Manipur (TIM) has strongly condemned the killing of three innocent Meitei civilians today near Khongbal Sunurok, close to the Khamenlok area of Kangpokpi district, by suspected SoO Kuki militant groups.
The attack which killed three and injured three others is not an isolated incident.
"It forms part of a calculated pattern of violence engineered across successive flashpoints - Koutruk, Uyok Ching, Litan, the Imphal-Tamenglong (IT) Road, and now Khamenlok - under the unified command of Jangboi Kipgen, Home Secretary of KNF(P)," TIM said in a statement.
TIM claimed Jangboi Kipgen exercises unified command over all Kuki militants in Kangpokpi district, including SoO signatories under UPF and KNO such as KNA/KNO, KLA/KLO, KRA/KNO, KLA/KNO and other Kuki militant groups, including SoO and non-SoO groups
like KNF-N .
The Khamenlok attack, coming immediately after the IT Road killings and the reported beheading of a Naga civilian, appears designed to divert attention from those atrocities while sustaining the cycle of bloodshed, it said.
While dozens of civilians have been killed since the beginning of 2026, not a single perpetrator has been arrested or prosecuted, even in cases where videos of the killings filmed by perpetrators themselves have been circulated on social media, TIM said, condemning input failure of the State Government tyo act against the armed Kuki militants.
"Kuki-Naga violence has escalated alarmingly, while the Kuki-Meitei tension has resumed after a period of relative calm, threatening further escalation and bloodshed.
As perpetrators continue their appalling acts of violence, terror and killings without accountability, civilians continue to pay the price while politicians remain preoccupied with party politics and election campaigning," TIM said.
If there is a responsible and functioning Government in Manipur, it must act like one.
Otherwise, it must resign rather than allow armed groups to reign terror on the State's unarmed citizens.
Killings and retaliatory killings have become a recurring, daily occurrence.
TIM demands the immediate booking and prosecution of Jangboi Kipgen and all those responsible," it said.
