Imphal, December 26:
A massive 160 run opening wicket partnership between M Manivannan and S Ramesh laid the foundation for a comfortable seven wicket win of SRYC (A) over GYC in a Super Six League match of the Pongal Cricket Tournament at Moreh today.
Manivannan remained 81 not out to guide SRYC past the GYC total of 192 runs in the 25th over for the loss of three wickets.
Ramesh who scored 71 off only 57 balls and took three GYC wickets was named man of the match.
Earlier, opting to bat first, the GYC inning began on a disastrous note with four wickets down for a paltry 35 runs before vital partnerships from the middle order batsmen lifted the score to a respectable 192.Sagar contributed 40 runs in the GYC total.
