NISA, UKB extend winning run in 13th Manipur State League

NISA, Thangmeiband and UKB, Churachandpur emerged victorious in today's matches of the 13th Manipur State League being organised by All Manipur Football Association at Turf ground, Khuman Lampak.
NISA earned their fourth win of the tournament today by edging past GSC 2-1 .
NISA and GSC were evenly poised in the opening period but Morris Joshua goal in the 33rd minute handed NISA a 1-0 lead till the break.
The two sides had a similar affair after the restart as well trading runs on both ends and after few unsuccessful moves, GSC breathed fresh air with Manglienboi scoring the equaliser in the 48th minute.
It was anyone's game with the score being drawn to level and the two sides were engaged in a fierce contest for the lead but remained elusive until GSC's Daniel netted into his own net thereby giving NISA the 2-1 edge.
GSC could have restored parity but NISA defence were at their best to deny any alterations in the scoreline till full time.
Morris Joshua picked up a yellow card in the 58th minute.
Meanwhile in the match staged latter, UKB thrashed AIM, Khabam to seal their third straight victory after a loss and a draw in their first two outings.
UKB ran riot from the word go to take a 4-0 lead before Thangminlun rounded off the scoring lately.
UKB took only 10 minutes to make the headway with Luntinmang finding the target before Lamthianlan doubled their advantage three minutes latter.
The scoring spree continued with Lalminlian scoring the team's third as AIM hardly resist while John netted UKB's fourth in the 31st minute.
AIM managed to hold their fort for a better portion of the second although their efforts failed to materialise, but taking advantage of a defensive lapse Thangminlun fired home UKB's final goal lately in the 85th minute to complete the 5-0 rout.
