22nd State Level Bharatiyam Competition Slopeland HSS emerge champions

Imphal, June 15 2016:
Slopeland Higher Secondary School, Thoubal emerged the champions of the 22nd State Level Bharatiyam Competition, organised by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS), today at Indoor Hall, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal.
The function was graced by YAS Commissioner H Deleep Singh, YAS Director Dr Harmit Singh Pahuja as chief guest and guest of honour respectively while YAS joint directors Kh Pramoda Devi and L Jayantakumar attended as guests of honour.

Champions Slopeland HSS, Thoubal (141 points) were awarded a cash prize of Rs 18,000 and a trophy while runners up Unacco School, Imphal East with 137 points received a cash prize of Rs 16,000 and a trophy.
Third place Hope Baptist Academy, Churachandpur walked home with a cash prize of Rs 14,000 and a trophy.
Altogether, 11 schools participated in the competition in which a cash prize of Rs 7000 each were awarded to all the schools.
N Joykumar and RK Surjit who are the instructors of Slopeland HSS were also awarded a cash prize of Rs 9000 .
Unacco School instructors L Sunil and H Lukhoi were also awarded a cash prize of Rs 7000 while Hope Baptist Academy instructors S Imocha and Th Suren received a cash prize of Rs 5000 .
