'Time to relook into youth affairs'

It is time to relook into the affairs of the youth and the role they are playing, and find the solution to any problem in this field, the Commissioner of Youth Affairs and Sports, H Deleep, IAS, said today.
The Commissioner was speaking at the award ceremony held at the conference hall of the Youth Affairs and Sports Department, Khuman Lampak, felicitating elected individuals and voluntary organisations of the 2015�16 term.
Ksh Pramoda, Joint Director, Youth Affairs and Sports, also spoke on the occasion and reiterated that it is essential to create an annual calendar of youth activities by the end of this month.
It is likely that there will soon be a policy dedicated for the youth of India, she added.
She mentioned that it is necessary to re-evaluate the amount of incentives, which is very low currently and that her department will do the best in the interest of the youth.
For the term in the category of voluntary youth organisation, Care and Share Foundation of Bamon Leikai, Thangjam Leikai, Imphal East received the award that included a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and a certificate.
Sorokhaibam Binoykumar, from Arapti Awang Leikai, Imphal East, was presented with the State Youth Award.
He received a cash prize of Rs 5,000 and a certificate.
In the district level category, the individual youth award�which carries a cash prize of Rs 1,000 and a certificate each�was presented to Kshetrimayum Premananda and Leimapokpam Chanu Yaiphabi of Thoubal and Bishnupur districts respectively.
