Beating Mizoram 7-4, Manipur has booked their semi-final berth in the 1st North East Challenge Hockey Tournament being played at Bhelapara Hockey Stadium here.
At the end of first-half of the Group B encounter today, Manipur was ahead 3-1.P Adeva scored the opening goal in the 13th minute followed by another one in the 17th minute.
N Abung added the third in the 27th minute.
During the last 35 munutes of play, N Abung converted two penalty corners in the 59th and 65th minute followed by another penalty corner conversion in 58th minute by L Ranachandra.
K Chinglensana rounded off the scoreline for Manipur with a field goal in the 62nd minute.
Of the four goals scored by Mizoram, three came off penalty corners .
Despite losing to Manipur, Mizoram has also reached semi-finals as two teams are selected from each group for the semi-final line up.
The other team in the group� Nagaland failed to show up at the Tournament.
In group A, host Assam blanked Tripura 6-0 before thrashing Arunachal Pradesh 16-1.
