Reacting to the news item published in the October 8 issue of this paper under the caption, "
Probe on sly appointment raps Minister," Power Minister Phungzathang Tonsing has today clarified that he was not involved in
the appointment of teachers in the Autonomous District Councils of Manipur.
In a statement, the Minister said that in pursuance of the Cabinet decision, the DPC for recruitment of Assistant Primary Teachers and certain other categories of posts were conducted by the CEO concerned of the ADCs.
The DPC proceedings including panel list for future vacancies as recommended was approved by the Govt, said Tonsing and reiterated that he was not involved in the appointment process of the teachers.
The appointment was effected by the CEO concerned, he claimed.
The Minister further said that he is not aware about the formation of any High Power Committee by the Govt/Cabinet to overlook the functioning of Ministers.
The allegations were politically motivated, he further claimed.
