Anou chess tourney begins

Imphal, June 03 2012:
Top seed and former Telegraph Chess champion Kh Sanjoy cruised past his first round opponent L Shyamkishore on the opening day of the 22nd Kh Anou Memorial State Level Chess Tournament at Kwakeithel Junior High School today.
In all 68 players, including 22 rated players and four female participants, are taking part in the competition which is offering a total of Rs 17,000 cash prize.
The opening day witnessed a total of 28 matches.
The oldest cash prize chess tournament is being organised by Kwakeithel Chess Club.
