Disowning the two persons who went to extort money at the residence of the Kakching ZEO at Wabagai to be their cadres, the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) has said today that the two persons � one of whom was lynched by the public � were impostors. In a press statement, the information and publicity secretary of KCP, H Poirei said that the two persons were not members of the outfit while expressing appreciation over the action of the public in thrashing the KCP imposters which resulted in the death of one and injuring of another.
Two persons � who went to collect money from a resident of Wabagai � were mobbed by the public on February 9 last which resulted in the death of one of the extortionists while one of them has been hospitalized.
In the statement, it said that the party authority will probe the incident of Wabagai in detail and warned that the party will not let the wrongdoers go unpunished in case some individuals were extorting money in the name of KCP or in case some cadres of the party were extorting money without the knowledge of the party authority.
The statement also asserted that the party will always stand against any activity that is threatening life, robbing the pockets of the public, and that are bound to hurt the sentiment of the public.
