Imphal, January 16 2009:
Dried fish traders of Thangal Bazar have clarified that there is no question of using chemical fertiliser like Urea at the time of manufacturing Ngari.
Addressing a press conference in this connection at Manipur Press Club here today afternoon, Okram Indrajit, a dried fish trader, informed that use of chemical fertiliser like Urea would render the fishes meant making Ngari useless instead of speedy up the process of fermentation as alleged.
He explained that the fishes meant for making Ngari are washed with clean water and the Kharung to be used for making Ngari is coated with 10 gram of Mustard oil before filling up with the fishes.
