THE ALL Manipur Recognized Private Schools' Welfare Association, Manipur (AMRPSWA) today said a meeting of the association held today has decided to observe the 280th anniversary of Puya Meithaba on January 17 and 18 to commemorate and pay tribute to people who suffered and died.
During the observation, the association said that the students of the association will pursue their activities with a black badge to commemorate the sorrowful event in the history.
The AMRPSWA also said that blazing of the Puyas, the store house of all the codes and conducts of the society and also a knowledge bank is a very unfortunate event in the history of Manipur.
It could be mentioned that the Puyas were buried along with all the rituals just like burying a person in the year 1729 in front of the Kangla Utra Shanglen.
The press statement of AMRPSWA also said that the students of Royal Academy of Science, Wangkhei will display black badges to the public while being in their regular activities and requested to all the schools of the state to kindly stick black badges in the said two days.
