Imphal, March 15: Consumers' Club, Manipur observed World Consumers' Day at GM Hall here and will continue till tomorrow, said a Club release while informing that the observance was graced by FCS Minister Y Erabot as the chief guest and the Club president haobam Ronel as the functional president.

At the workshop session, president of District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum (Imphal, Ukhrul & Senapati) Dr Ch Narendra highlighted benefits reaped by consumers under the Consumers' Protection Act while DMC Science's head of chemistry Department Dr G tomba Sharma briefed the gathering on harmful effects of adulteration of consumable items.

The session was moderated by former president of District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum (Imphal) C Upendra.

Informing that about 320 delegates from both the hill and valley districts took part at the observance, the release added that Member of Manipur Human Rigths Commisison Ng Nongyai and AMKIL vice president Anandi Khangembam also attended the programme as the guests of honour.
