AR conducts anti drugs awareness drive

Ukhrul, February 12 2021: On the occasion of World Cancer Week, an awareness drive on Cancer and Drug Menace was conducted by Shangshak Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (South) at Jalengbung village, Litan in Ukhrul district of Manipur on yesterday.

The Medical Officer of Assam Rifles educated the villagers of Jalengbung and nearby areas on the preventions and early detection aspects of various types of cancers.

The local population were also made aware of the government health and medical beneficiary schemes.

Further continuing with the efforts on curbing down the smuggling of drugs, the troops of Assam Rifles took a step forward in educating the locals on ill effects of drugs with special focus on the youth.

45 villagers including Village Health Committee Members and Youth Club Members from nearby villages joined Assam Rifles in the awareness drive.
