Kuki National Army (KNA/KNO) has denied having any part in the assault of Thangal Surung villagers yesterday which appeared in today's edition of local newspapers.
In a statement 'Lt' CL Kuki, commander of wing no-VI, KNA/KNO clarified that the culprit, Thangpao Touthang of Y Langkhong village, was once a cadre of KNA/KNO Wing No-6 .
It stated that he deserted the outfit on October 27 .
"Whatever activity/action he had done at Thangal Sarung Naga village incident was done on his private interest and the party has no part in it what so ever, besides the KNA/KNO has resolved to initiate stern action on him for his misbehaviour after investigating the matter thoroughly," it asserted.
The statement also expressed remorse over the sufferings of the victims of the village.
