Delhi Chief Minister Smt Shiela Dikshit, along with Oscar Fernandes, MP, heard out the grievances of the students.

In a press statement, the student body stated that "our voices must be heard and suitably addressed.
So many other cases have gathered dust because of the indifference of the authorities." NSUD also demanded that a White Paper on the FIR of the case be produced.
A memorandum was also submitted to the Prime Minister along with signatures of various participating bodies in order to highlight their concern.
Other student groups include MSAD, SSPP, Tripura Students' Forum, NPMHR, Hmar Students' Association, Khasi Students' Union and organisation including the North East Support Centre and Helpline, Tangkhul Naga Society and North East dignitaries, signed the memorandum.
The memorandum was also addressed to the Home Minister, to all NE Governors and the Lt Governor of Delhi, MPs of all the 8 North East States, the Chief Minister, of Delhi and the Commissioner of Delhi police.
The memorandum highlighted the discrimination the people of North East are subjected to.
The memorandum stated that "discrimination, racial profiling, devaluating the North East culture and values," are rampant.
Most of such cases have remained unregistered, it noted and added that this is basically due to the discriminations by the the authorities concerned.
The student union also highlighted some of the cases that have happen in the past questioning g as to " what made us - the NE community a soft target? " The memorandum also quoted the DCP of Delhi Police HSD Dhalliwal who said that the accused was a 'pervert" and mentally unstable, which raises a question of " Are govt and delhi police really counting how many maniacs, perverts and mentally unstable in Delhi are looking for vulnerable victims.
?" It further stated that such attitude does not only trivialise but broods to major crime rates.
Meanwhile later in the day ,condemning the crime against women, representative from the Manipuri Women Gun Survivor's network, Jamia Millia Islamia, North East network, Sangat, South Asian for human rights and other civil society in Delhi hold a silent march in munirka area and light candle for victim Hongray in the house where the murder took place.
