The annual general assembly of the Kasom Khullen Sub-Division Development Association has resolved to urge the State Government and authorities concerned to address the many deficiencies the people have been suffering from.
The two-day general assembly held at Kasom Khullen Headquarters was attended by Pastors and chiefs of villages located within the sub-division.
The assembly resolved to pressurise the Government to complete the road development work from Yairipok to Kasom Khullen Sub-Divisional Headquarters before Christmas festival.
It agreed that villagers would cut down and remove the shrubs and grasses growing alongside the road.
Activation of the BSNL sub-station built at the sub-division was another resolution of the meeting.
The assembly decided to approach the Power Department to complete installation of 43/11 KV power sub-station there and make it functional at the earliest so that the people can enjoy the power facility.
Noting the inability to take agricultural produces of the sub-division to Imphal due to absence of any marketing centre, the assembly decided to urge the Government to provide a marketing space and fix a particular day of the week for marketing produces of the sub-division.
It also resolved to open an international trade centre within Kasom Khullen sub-division.
The meeting agreed to launch agitation of different sorts in case no positive response is forthcoming from the Government towards fulfilling the demands of the people as decided in the general assembly.
Later, 15 students who secured high marks in the Class X examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) were felicitated together with four schools which produced maximum number of successful students.
Kasom Khullen SDO K Shyamchand presented gave away simple gifts to the students and the school authorities.
