Imphal, September 11:
Manipuri Students Federation (MSF) has charged the Government with not taking necessary measures for providing relief to the flood affected people inspite of having sounded red alert.
Talking to mediapersons, general secretary of the student body Th Bomcha said instead of remaining a mute spectator to the plight of the flood victims , the Government should seek the assistance.
The failure of the State Government to provide necessary assistance to the flood affected people has been known from extensive tour of the flood affected areas by the MSF volunteers, he said.
MSF advisor Pheiroijam Nando decried the attitude of the Ministers and the MLAs who try gain advantage of the situation by distributing some rice and cereal here and there.
Soon after announcement of the red alert, the Chief Minister should have taken up necessary measures to ameliorate the problems of the people instead of remaining contended with breaking down the locks of the godowns, Nando said.
