Imphal, October 05:
Asserting that Samuk (Tucha) village of Senapati district has been kept aloof from any kind of development since the village was founded and that the villagers have been forced to walk over 40 kms to cast their votes, the Samuk Village Authority has pleaded for immediate attention of the authority concerned towards the plight of the villagers.
A statement issued by the chairman of the village authority said that their polling station were located 40 kms away after crossing three villages in Tamenglong district.
In view of the assembly elections slated in February next year, it sought immediate attention of the authority concerned so as to enable the villagers exercise their right to vote this time.
