Govt declares holiday

Imphal, August 16 2018:
The State Government, today declared holiday on August 17 for all Government offices and Government educational institutions on the demise of former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
According to a press release issued by the Joint Secretary, General Administration Department, all banks in Manipur will also remain closed tomorrow as mark of respect to the departed dignitary.
The State will also observe seven days mourning from August 16 till August 22 .
During this period the national flag will be flown half mast throughout the State where it is regularly flown.
There will be no official entertainment during the mourning period.
