Fresh drinking water provided to flood-affected people

Imphal, July 16 2017:
Troops of 42 Assam Rifles at Komlakhong Chingthi post under Mayang Imphal constituency provided clean drinking water to the people of Phaugakchau village on July 15 .
The actions of the unit have come at a time when there has been no supply of drinking water for last two days forcing locals to consume polluted water .
The people of these areas have been affected by Manipur river overflowing its banks which has inundated the adjoining areas, according to a statement issued by PIB, Defence, Imphal.
