Moltuk Bn joins GTV Mission in Chandel

Continuing with its objective of providing aid to civil authorities, Moltuk Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(South) helped the civil administration of Chandel district in organising the "Go to Village" programme in village Molcham today.
The Battalion provided security as well as administrative and logistic support for successful conduction of the.mission, said a statement of PRO IGAR (South) today.
The programme was attended by Letpao Haokip, Cabinet Minister Water Resource, Youth Affairs and Sports, Manipur, Kamei Angam Romanus, SP Chandel, N Shokhongam Baite, SDM Khengjoi subdivision alongwith other district officials.
The programme gave a platform for the civil administration to interact with the locals and hear their grievances.
Such events will go a long way in improving the lives of these border area villages, said the statement of AR.
During the event, the battalion, as part of Op Sadhbhavna, distributed 5 solar lights worth over Rs 3 lakh to Molcham village.
The district administration acknowledged the contribution of the Bn in bettering the lives of the locals by virtue of its numerous initiatives like recruitment training for youths, medical camps etc and thanked the Bn for its support.
The battalion assured the locals that it would continue to fight for the cause of the locals and also continue to work towards making their lives better, said the statement.
