A medical and dental camp was organised by 357 Field Hospital under the aegis of 57 Mountain Division at Leimakhong Bazar today to provide medical and dental consultation and treatment to the locals and adjoining villagers.
The medical team comprising of four medical officers, including one lady medical officer, along with paramedical staff of 357 Field Hospital examined, advised and treated the patients, a PIB (DW) release said while adding that a laboratory was also established in which basic investigation were carried out.
Col AK Nayak of the 57 Mountain Division visited the camp and interacted with the patients and village elders.
It is said that the only Government dispensary in Leimakhong is run by a nurse where patients are attended only on Thursdays, which happen to be weekly market day.
A total of 157 patients, including women and children were provided treatment in the camp, the release maintained adding that dental treatment was provided to 14 patients.
