Imphal, August 20 2014:
In remembrance of the day when Manipuri language was included in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India, has been celebrated as the "Manipuri Language Day" at Dev Literature Centre, Imphal, today.
The celebration was said to be jointly organised by The Cultural Forum Manipur, Naharol Sahitya Premi Samiti, Manipuri Literary Society, Manipuri Language Development Committee, Leimarol Khorjeikol (Leikol) and Manipur State Shumang Leela Council, Imphal.
Views pertaining to the image and condition of Manipuri language since its inclusion in the 8th Schedule of India was expressed by scholars during the course of celebration.
