A non-Manipur who appears to around 60 years of age was found dead at the bus waiting shed of Leimakhong Chingmang under Sekmai Police Station at around 6.45 pm yesterday.
The corpse of the man having wheatist complexion with elongated bearded face and 5 feet and 6 inches tall has been picked up by the police and deposited at the mortuary of RIMS Hospital for identification.
The man was found wearing a worn-out dhoti and wrapped around with an old blanket.
According to police source, the man may have died from extreme cold.
Meanwhile, as no one has claimed the body of man who was found death after being hit a speedy vehicle along National Highway 39 in front of DM College under Imphal Police Station on the night of January 26 has been handed over to Imphal Municipality for disposal after post-mortem at RIMS mortuary.
On the other hand, the body of Nameirakpam Rabichadra (56) of Kha-Potsangbam who was run over by an army vehicle in front of Manipur press Club near Kanglapat under City Police Station at around 10.30 am yesterday has been handed over to his family members after post-mortem examination at RIMS mortuary today.
Oinam Ibohal (56) who came along with Rabichandra in the same scooter when the incident took place is still undergoing treatment at RIMS Hospital.
