Two individuals accused for thrashing nine labourers at Mangol Garden, Leimaram Waroiching by posing themselves as RPF/PLA cadres last night have been pulled up by the outfit.
The two assailants are identified as Ningthoujam Sanatomba alias Ingocha (22) s/o Gouramani of Leimaram and Leichonbam Brajamani alias Jiten (23) s/o Amu of Leimaram Waroiching.
After parading the two imposters before media persons at a location in Churachandpur district today, the outfit penalised and counselled them not to indulge in such anti-social and anti-party activity in future.
They were later handed over to their family members.
According to the labourers, Sanatomba and Brajamani entered into their makeshift camp at about 5 pm yesterday.
Claiming that they were cadres of the RPF/PLA, the two imposters asked the labourers to lie down on the ground and they started vandalising the articles kept inside the camp.
Soon after, Sanatomba and Brajamani started thrashing the labourers with a wooden plank.
They also scattered the food cooked for the evening, conveyed the labourers.
Then they body-searched all the people inside the camp and took away Rs 1000 from one Huirem Ibomcha and another Rs 450 from Khangenbam Tolpishak.
Before leaving the camp, Sanatomba and Brajamani threatened the labourers not to venture out of the camp or tell anybody about the incident.
They warned that they would come back again, the labourers disclosed.
Briefing media persons at Churachandpur today, a spokesperson of the outfit's Department of Communication and Publicity said that Sanatomba and Brajamani will be made to return the money they took from the labourers.
Their fathers also pledged to reprimand their sons properly so that they don't indulge in anti-social and anti-party activities.
Before Sanatomba and Brajamani were handed over to their families, they were made to apologise for their crime prostrating before the labourers they assaulted last night.
