Imphal, December 21 2012:
The proscribed KYKL, accusing Education Department officials of indulging in rampant corruption, has proclaimed that it would resume collection of tax from educational institutions, including private schools.
A KYKL statement issued by its Publicity and Research secretary A Yaiphaba conveyed it ceased tax collection drives from educational institutions with the expectation that there would be marked improvement in the educational scenario.
However, contrary to the expectation there is no sign of positive development in the education sector as Education Department officials are only interested in amassing personal wealth out of huge amount of fund meant for uplifting standard of education in the State, Yaiphaba contended.
Further claiming that continuous rot in the State's education system is a fallout of 'well designed hegemonic scheme' of the Government of India, the outfit regretted that success of India's sinister ploy has gradually led to the present generation of Manipur unable to decide their own future.
Taxing educational institutions has also become indispensable for KYKL also needs to replenish its resources, Yaiphaba explained.
KYKL, however, affirmed that its focus on promoting quality education will not be compromised under any circumstance.
