Imphal, December 21 2012:
Huidrom Jugeswar Singh, former District and Sessions Judge, Manipur East passed away this morning at his residence at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai.
When separation of Judiciary from the Executive was introduced in Manipur in 1965, he was appointed Munsiff/ Judicial Magistrate and served as Chief Judicial Magistrate, Deputy Registrar of the Gauhati High Court, Imphal Bench, Presiding Officer, Revenue Tribunal, Manipur for four years from 1982 and retired as District and Sessions Judge,
Manipur East in 1992 .

From 1994-1996 he served as State Election Commissioner and conducted the Gram Panchayats and Municipality elections.
In 1997, he joined BJP Manipur Pradesh.
In 2000, he was Chairman of the erstwhile Dealer Selection Board for North Eastern States except Assam under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gases, Government of India and served for about 2 years.
In 1999, he was the founder President of All Manipur Senior Citizens' Welfare Association, Manipur.
He is survived by his wife and five children.
