Special 3rd World Zo-Reunification Convention held at Aizawl

A Special Third World Zo-Reunification Convention was held at Vanapa Hall, Aizawl, Mizoram on Oct 4 .
The Special Convention was organized by Zo-Reunification Organization (ZoRO) General Headquarter, Zoram(Aizawl) .
A part from ZoRO leaders, noted leaders all political party leaders of Mizoram including the Ex-Chief Minister of the state Zoramthanga as well as Women League of Chinland attended the Convention where they unanimously passed several resolutions with regards to implementation of the United Nation's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples of 2007 etc.
Among other many resolutions passed in the Convention, the Zo Indigenous Peoples participating in the Special Third World Zo-Reunification Convention at Vanapa Hall, Aizawl resolved with due solemnity and with heart and soul together pledged with one accord to strive together for the purpose of securing due recognition and respect for the Rights and Freedoms of all Indigenous Peoples and for achieving the just and most compelling requirement of a democratic society while realizing for uncountable and sustainable benefits for Indigenous Peoples of the world on the accomplishment of implementation of the 2007 UN Declaration on the Rights of the Indigenous Peoples(UNDRIP) .

Expressing its heartfelt gratitude to all the presidents of Mizoram political parties who have pledged to extend utmost efforts for implementation of the UN Declaration on the Rights of the Indigenous Peoples of 2007 after having learnt the appreciation of the efforts of ZoRO leaders through the UNO, the Convention urges all the political party leaders of the territories of the Zo Indigenous Peoples to follow the footsteps of the Mizoram political party presidents in matter relating to implementation of the UNDRIP in the course of Re-Unification of all the Zo-folks living under the administration of India, Myanmar and Bangladesh physically and that of their brothers living in this planet Earth mentally and spuritually.
Speaking at the Convention George Guite, Secy Inf &Pub ZoRO Northern Zone while affirming that the Kukis, Chins and Lushais whom many think are of different people are one and the same race quoted Bartram S Carey, the first Political Officer of the Chin Hills in 1895 who gave firsthand account of the Zo people and noted, "the Kukis of Manipur, the Lushais of Bengal and Assam, and the Chins are of one and the same stock; their form of government, method of cultivation, manners of customs, beliefs and traditions all point to one origin" .
He further continued that the undivided Zo Nation and its land have been divided and rendered incomplete man after their ancestral territory had been divided among other people with the division of India, Burma and Bangladesh in the interest of the British colonial administration though many of the British Officers later insisted to put the territory of the Zo under one unit of administration because of their affinity.
While calling the Zo people to pour together their physical strength to fight for their rights to live together, George Guite asserted that in the Northern Zone we are currently fighting for Kuki State which is to be curved out from our ancestral northern territory as a prelude to bring together all our land in our hand for safety where the support of the Zo people in diffirent territory is highly needed.
In the meantime, Mizoram political parties in a joint appreciation note expressed their hearthiest appreciation to how His Excellency, the Governor of Mizoram inaugurated "Zo Inpui" where in all the sons of Zo could be accommodated.
The joint appreciation statement respectively signed by Lal Thanhawla, President Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee, Zoramthanga, President Mizo National Front, Lalduhawma, President Zoram Nationalist Party, Lalhmangaiha Sailo, President Mizoram Peoples' Conference and H.Lalhluha, State BJP President, Mizoram appreciated the appeal of ZoRO to the UNO for all round sustainable benefits for Zofate( the sons of Zo) and assured to extend their utmost efforts for implementation of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in respect of the Zofate in particular apart from expressing their and their respective parties willingness to form a Ministry in the coming election of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly.
