A 14-year old boy, who had been separated from his uncle at Old Delhi Railway Station while going to Nepal two years back, was handed over to Child Support Organisation run by Manipur Mahila Kalyan Samiti today.
An official team of Delhi police and Child Line, Manipur brought 14-year old Rahul Bahadur from Uday Children Home for Boys-II, New Delhi where he had been staying all these years to be united with his parents.
The boy was handed over to the Child Support Organisation of the Samiti as his parents could not be at his native Chandrapoto village in Thoubal district.
Till the parents of juvenile Rahul has been traced, the boy would be taken care of at the Children Home, Chingmeirong run by the Samiti.
According to case summery of the boy, Rahul s/o of Santosh Bahadur of Chandrapoto village in Thoubal district, was accompanying his Uncle Prem on a long journey from Manipur to Nepal in February 2004 when he got separated from his uncle at Old Delhi Railway Station.
The hapless boy approached a rickshaw puller for assistance but the latter looted him of all his belongings.
Subsequently an FIR was registered at Kotwali Police Station, the rickshaw puller arrested and the boy was sent to Uday Children Home for Boys-II and educated till V standard.
The Delhi police have also recovered all the stolen belongings including a cash amount of Rs 86,200 and returned the same to the boy.
According to Rahul his brother Jeet Bahadur alias Thula Bhai runs a shop near their house and his uncle Prem is a milk seller who lives at Mahadev village in Ukhrul district along with his family.
