Imphal, April 28:
Taking a dig at the Assam Rifles for staging the surrender drama on March 13 this year, the proscribed UNLF today said that the conduct of the Indian security force did not come as a surprise because such acts of deception have been taken to an art form by the security force.
Dubbing the surrender drama as a play scripted by the Assam Rifles and produced by the GOC of 3 Corps, Lt Gen ZU Shah, UNLF in a statement said that Heikrujam Gobin and Heikrujam Ingo were forced to enact the role of two non-existent persons, Thokchom Nanao alias Nganba of Moirang and Ravikumar of Kwakeithel Konjeng Leikai.
Not only are the two names given by the Assam Rifles absent in the register of the UNLF but there are no such persons in the said localities given by the Assam Rifles, added the outfit.
The truth could not be concealed for long because of the case filed at the Gauhati High Court, asserted UNLF and added that out of the three persons produced before the Court, Heikrujam Ingo son of Tompok (made to pose as Ravikumar of the UNLF) and H Lemba (made to pose as Y Basanta of PREPAK) were released.
More amusing is the fact that Heikrujam Momocha son of Nilachandra who was made to take on the role of one Thangjam Mantri of the KCP was not produced before the Court and his place was taken by another person who could not be identified by the father of Momocha, said UNLF.
The question now is how many innocent civilians are in the custody of the Assam Rifles to force them to enact different roles, countered UNLF.
Such deception played by the Indian security force is not new, said UNLF and added that since their military might has not been able to defeat the revolutionary movement they have embarked on many deceptive policies to fool the public.
It is not only the sepoys or the lower rung personnel of the Indian security force who resort to such dubious means but their high ranking officers too, said UNLF and recalled the tomato ketchup incident at Cachar as well as the injury feigned during the Kargil war.
So morally bankrupt are the Indian security personnel that many of them have now contracted HIV during their visits to the red light areas, said UNLF.
Sounding a stern warning, the outfit further said that Y Somananda of Lamanai Makha Leikai, Ranjit of Luwangshangbam Matai and Hemba should surrender to the UNLF immediately or else they will be declared as the enemies of the people and given capital punishment.
