Imphal, April 28:
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has stated that he does not care about the threat on his life from underground activists for having expressed displeasure on their undue interference in the developmental works being taken up by the Government.
Speaking as chief guest at the inaugural function of a one-day political advocacy on HIV/AIDS at Congress Bhavan here this morning, Ibobi said he has been receiving threats from various underground organisations for criticising their activities which have hampered developmental activities in the State.
'They are threatening to kill me and asking how long would I live with security coverage and enjoy car ride.
But frankly I don't care about such threats.
Because death is inevitable and all of us are going to die one day even if I do not fall to the bullets of the underground activists', said Ibobi philosophically.
Turning the table on his opponents, the Chief Minister dared all those who are accusing him of corruption and partiality to prove the charges.
'I am a Chief Minister, and though I have been elected from Thoubal A/C it does not mean that I would be pouring all the fund to develop my own constituency', he said.
The wild allegations made by some disgruntled elements that the recent Ministry shuffling was only the benefit of the hill district is nothing but ridiculous, he said, while stressing on equitable distribution of wealth and development in both the hill and the valley districts.
It is common knowledge that hill areas are lagging behind development on various front.
So there should not be any hard feeling when some initiatives for development of hill districts are taken up, the Chief Minister said, adding that he felt ashame of himself during his recent visit to Jessami when the people demanded to know why he did not send any doctors as promised earlier.
