Imphal, July 03 2012:
Four cadres of Kuki National Army (India) including their leader Lungam Haokip alias Ollic were slain during a gun battle which broke out with KNO/KNA cadres on June 30 last near Phaikoh Village of Ukhrul District, informed Barack Kuki, Secretary Imformation and Publicity of KNA (India) in a statement.
The other three deceased cadres were identified as Ngamjathang Haokip @ Vickey, Jamjang Haokip@Helneg and Mangtinlen Haokip @ Lucky.
Barack stated that they broke up from KNA/KNO in October last year since they have lost faith in the KNA leadership.
KNA/KNO has a strong nexus with the Indian security forces and RAW (India) and has lost its revolutionary principle.
Its leadership is a compilation of wasted interest fanned by self interest/fanaticism with no political vision.
He also said that the new faction group, KNA(I) will upheld the dignity and prestige of Kuki nation and will continue to fight the Kuki armed struggle with justice, determination and sacrifice in spite of this great loss.
The statement also clarified that KNA/KNO is a Burma based insurgent group and KNA (India) is a Manipur based insurgent group.
