Manipur Bhawan in Guwahati to be inaugurated next month

The construction work on the new Manipur Bhawan at Guwahati has been completed and it would be inaugurated by August next, PWD Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar informed the Assembly today.
Responding to a motion raised by Opposition MLA Dr I Ibohalbi during the Question Hour session of the Assembly today, the Minister further informed the House that with exception to procurement of furniture, all construction works of the new Manipur Bhawan in Guwahati have been completed.
The second Manipur Bhawan, which is being constructed at Salt Lake in Kolkata is also nearing completion.
So far, the floor works upto the level of first floor has been over.
However, the time for wrapping up the construction work has not yet been finalized, the Minister added.
Answering to a question raised by MLA M Prithiviraj on whether there is plan for developing the infrastructure of the recently upgraded Kwakta High School from Kwakta Junior High School, Education Minister M Okendro informed the House that there is plan for improving the infrastructure and appointing the required staffs for Kwakta High School.
The process would start once the work programe is finalized.
The process for black topping along a stretch of 2.56 kms from Nongmaijing Thongkhong to Nongmaijing has been completed, informed Minister Dr Ratankumar, in response to another motion raised by MLA M Kunjo.
