Imphal, October 01:
Appealing to the State Government to make their treatment free as in other States, cancer patients undergoing treatment at RIMS Radiotherapy Department have submitted memoranda to the Chief Minister and the RIMS Director.
Saying that most of the cancer patients cannot afford the huge cost of treatment, they lamented that many cancer patients even though they knew they are infected with the disease went back without seeking treatment thinking of the unaffordable treatment cost.
There have been many cases in which cancer patients succumbed without ever getting treatment because of poverty.
The cancer patients also appealed to all social organisations to help persuade the Chief Minister in providing free treatment to cancer patients.
