Two salesmen were wounded in a grenade attack by unidentified persons at Manipur Diesels, a shop selling spare parts of vehicles at Thangal Bazar at around 1.10 pm today.
The injured salesmen have been identified as Ngangbam Kumarjit (30) of Luwangshangbam Matai and Dipu Das.
Some other goods kept in the shops were also reportedly damaged in the blast.
On the other hand, bomb experts of the State Police Department today retrieved a hand grenade which was lobbed inside the residential compound of one Md Abdul Gani Khan at Kshetri Bengoon Mayai Leikai last night.
The lever-less hand grenade was allegedly lobbed by some unidentified persons coming on a Honda Activa.
The bomb was later successfully detonated by the police.
Md Abdul has appealed to all concerned to come out with an explanation on the grenade attack at his residence.
Truck torched : Three unidentified persons who came in a scooter reportedly set on fire a goods laden Tata truck at Khonghampat at around 6 pm today.
The front portion of the Tata truck laden with apples has been damaged in the fire.
The registration number of the ill-fated Tata truck is HR696-5892, according to police source.
