Dimapur, November 02 2016:
The NSCN-IM while noting the statement of Mulatonu of GPRN/NSCN (Unification group) that a political talk is scheduled with the Government of India by March 2017, has said today that much before March 2017, the Indo-Naga political talks would have resulted in a final solution.
"There is nothing new about such repeated empty claims that they (Unification group) are scheduled for political talks with Government of India and yet all that they have discussed since 2007 is confined to ceasefire extension whereby they have accepted to be disciplined under the Indian laws as signed in their ceasefire agreement", the NSCN-IM said.
"The Naga people understand that the GPRN/NSCN (Unification group) has been cooking up stories so that they can collect taxes from the people from time to time.
This is for the sustenance of their campers.
The officials of the Government of India have repeatedly told Khehoi campers that there will be only one solution for the Indo-Naga political issue.
The on-going Indo-Naga political talk with Government of India and NSCN representing Naga people is inclusive and final," the NSCN-IM said in a statement.
According to the NSCN-IM, cadres from other factions "realizing the truth" that they have reached a "dead end," are coming over in hundreds months after months to join hands with the NSCN-IM and to further strengthen the on-going Indo-Naga peace process.
"Therefore, to further prevent emptying their camps Mulatonu has come out with a better idea of befooling the Nagas by stating that political talks with Government of India will begin by March 2017," the NSCN-IM added.
"It may be clearly noted that much before March 2017, the Indo-Naga political talks would have resulted in a final solution," it stated.
Therefore, the NSCN-IM said the question of even the existence of the GPRN/NSCN would not arise by then.
"Does anyone in his sound mind believe that Government of India will have political talks with non-existent or dissolved organization ?," it asked.
It is good to dream within the ambit of possibilities, it added.
"Therefore, Naga people must realize and not become easy victims of political gimmicks of some jokers.
Since the NSCN is in the talks representing the Nagas, we are the one who know the actual position and therefore urge our people to be patient and supportive of the on-going political talks which will usher in a final solution that is inclusive, honorable and acceptable to both the parties," it added.
