Imphal, July 02 2017:
The proscribed RPF and the Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) have claimed that the attack at the 27 Assam Rifles check-post of Ramva near Lambui village of Ukhrul district on June 30 was carried out by a combined team of the two outfits .
A joint statement issued by RPF assistant secretary, publicity Bangkim and MNPF assistant publicity secretary Thomas Numai alleged that since October 15, 1949, Indian military forces have been oppressing the people of Manipur, both in the hills and the valley, by imposing several draconian laws .
Moreover, the alien forces have been scheming to drive wedges between different communities under a sustained 'divide and rule policy' .
Yet, the indigenous communities of the land fully understand the adage 'united we stand, divided we fall' .
Even though all the Nagas settled in different parts of the world have genealogical and cultural links, the MNPF believes that sovereign political boundaries should not be overlapping each other .
Driven by this conviction, MNPF and RPF/PLA started working together since 2013.Since then, PLA and MNPF have jointly undertaken many offensive military campaigns .
The Aishi offensive against 21 AR in January 2014, the attack against 1/11 Gorkha Rifles and 25 Madras Regiment at Taikotag, Churachandpur district in April 2014, Behiang offensive against AR in December 2014, Khunmulian attack against AR in December 2015 and Hengsi attack against 29 AR in May 2016 were some of the joint military campaigns undertaken by PLA and MNPF.
MNPF's firm determination, discipline and unwavering conviction have reinforced the common belief that all the indigenous communities should wage the liberation struggle collectively, the outfits claimed .
They also appealed to all the people to support the common struggle and help in driving out the Indian military forces from the soil of Manipur .
It further conveyed that the war office of PLA and MNPF has lauded their cadres who carried out the Ramva attack as well as all those people who provided logistic support.
